Kazuchika Okada Jokes About Biggest Difference Between AEW & NJPW: “AEW Has Catering”

Okada jokes and then gives his real answer.

It is coming up on two years since Kazuchika Okada announced that he would be departing New Japan Pro-Wrestling and eventually go on to sign with All Elite Wrestling.

Okada is set to make his in-ring return for NJPW at Wrestle Kingdom 20, where he will be Hiroshi Tanahashi’s final opponent.

An interview with Okada was rolled out by NJPW1972.com. The site asked him for the biggest differences between AEW and NJPW. He jokingly said the biggest difference is that AEW has catering. Okada then went on to give his real answer.

“AEW has catering (laughs). But with AEW, every show is a TV show, so there’s a lot more staff around all the time, and there you’re constantly moving from town to town, so that’s a huge difference. In a lot of ways, it’s a different thing. You’re really part of this traveling TV show there; it’s a different animal. But it’s a lot of fun.”

The last time Okada and Tanahashi had a singles match was in 2024 at NJPW The New Beginning in Osaka. Okada defeated Tanahashi in that match.
