Bryan Danielson Says He’s Suffered 13 Documented Concussions Throughout His Wrestling Career

Bryan Danielson opens up about his history with concussions.

In recent years, multiple sports leagues have introduced new safety protocols surrounding concussions and other head-related injuries. Wrestling has been no different, as companies often worry about the possible long-term effects of these incidents, including but not limited to CTE.

Speaking with Chris Van Vliet for a new interview, Bryan Danielson revealed that he’s suffered 13 documented concussions throughout his wrestling career.

“So I’ve had 13 documented concussions. [Is the actual number more?] Who knows? I don’t know. It’s just weird, because when I started in 1999 the idea was, Oh, you just got dinged. You got your bell rung. So, with all the stuff that they’ve discovered about concussions since then, it’s probably too many. I would say it’s probably too many.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Danielson revealed that he’s been struggling with the travel commitments for his weekly commentary role in AEW. Check out his full comments here.
