Kyle Fletcher discusses wrestling Kazuchika Okada two years running in the AEW Continental Classic.

Fletcher over the past year has grown in leaps and bounds as a performer in such a short time, kicking it off with a victory over Kazuchika Okada in the league phase of last year’s AEW Continental Classic. In this year’s tournament, Fletcher would once again face and defeat Okada.

While speaking to MAXimum Rock in a new interview, Kyle Fletcher was asked about getting to face Okada two years running in the tournament.

“Yeah, no, it’s pretty cool. I mean, we have a pretty good relationship now. I think this time last year’s Continental Classic when I beat him the first time, it was like I’d had very few conversations with the man in general, let alone been in the ring with him. So now being able to be in a faction with him and become friends with him and actually have that like relationship, the vibe for the match was like a lot different to the year prior. But yeah, man, I mean, Okada is literally one of the greatest wrestlers of all time. Definitely one of the greatest Japanese wrestlers of all time. So yeah, to be able to be one of the only people to have a pinfall victory over him, it’s pretty special.”

Elsewhere in another interview, Fletcher spoke about Stevie Richards’ claim that Logan Paul is better than anyone on AEW’s roster. You can read more about that here.
