Bishop Kaun Initially Felt ‘Bittersweet’ About AEW’s Gates Of Agony Pitch, Felt His Old Partner Moses Should’ve Been Brought In
Kaun had been paired with Moses from 2018 to 2023.
For five years, the duo of Bishop Kaun and Moses were known as the Sons of Savergery. They made their way through the independent scene and eventually joined Ring of Honor before the company was acquired by AEW.
Kaun and Moses linked with Shane Taylor as a part of Shane Taylor Promotions, and they went on to capture the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championship.
Kaun would eventually get the opportunity to work dates for AEW after they acquired ROH, and it was soon after when he was paired with Toa Liona to form Gates of Agony. While guest appearing on Hitting The Turnbuckle, Kaun said he initially felt bittersweet about the Gates of Agony because he thought the natural transition would be to bring Moses into the company.
“When the idea was pitched, it was a little bittersweet just because I was with Moses for a couple years so why not just — in my mind, that would make logical sense. Why not bring the partner over that I have? We already have this chemistry. Unfortunately, he didn’t get the same opportunity that I did, so I got to just meet Toa (Liona), and that was presented…”
Present day, Kaun and Liona are paired with Ricochet, and collectively, they are known as The Demand. At AEW Full Gear, Kaun and Liona took to the ring to celebrate with Ricochet after he became the first-ever AEW National Champion.
