Stevie Richards Disagrees With Bret Hart’s Assessment Of Sheamus

Last week, a viral clip was floated around from the Johnny I Pro Show where Bret Hart took a shot at the way Sheamus throws his punches. Now, Stevie Richards is here to address his claim. Richards pulled up video from a few of Sheamus’s matches, both new and old, to try and determine why Hart was making such an outrageous claim.
During the interview, Hart called Sheamus’s punches “embarrassing“. While everyone is entitled to their opinion, many began to question Hart’s judgement he later asked who MJF was, despite having an AEW segment with him at the inaugural Double or Nothing.
“Talking about Sheamus’s punches, I think him having that big, clubbing style, he’s really, really good. Boom, there’s one punch right there. I’m going to back it up, slow it down, what’s wrong with that?” Richards asked.
He continued, “I like the fact that he’s mixing up the forearms, punches, everything like that. I don’t think they look weak or sloppy… I’d have to disagree with Bret. I don’t know if he just watched one match in particular, but what’s wrong with that?”
As part of The Stevie Richards Show, the whole MJF dilemma was discussed which led to Richards pulling up a clip from Sheamus’s match against Triple H at WrestleMania. Instead of the more recent clip against Gunther, his punches were more protective, but still looked great. Richards, an experienced veteran, saw no issue with his punches in the matches he pulled up from 2010 and 2022.
