Natalya Wishes She Could Have Been At WWE Raw For Maxxine Dupri’s Title Victory
Maxxine Dupri shocked the world on Monday’s WWE Raw, defeating Becky Lynch to win the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship.
Dupri entered WWE as a manager, but has made strides in the ring over the past two years thanks to her work with Natalya at the Dungeon.
Unfortunately, Natalya was not there for Maxxine’s big moment.
“I’m sad that I wasn’t there for it. I would have loved to have been there for her and that big moment. I was on a flight and I wasn’t able to be there,” Natalya said on Busted Open Radio.
Natalya noted that she wanted to go on Instagram Live to celebrate, but thought the flight crew might frown on that.
Natalya continued, “She won her first championship. She beat Becky Lynch, who is one of the best women in our entire division and the world. It’s not just her saying it. Becky main evented WrestleMania. It’s a big deal that Maxxine beat Becky and won her first championship and did it at Madison Square Garden. There is so much that made it a big deal. What it was also was a feel good moment for everyone. It’s such an underdog moment. It was cool to see someone else get a chance. It’s what’s fun about wrestling. You never know what’s going to happen.”
Not only have Natalya and Maxxine been working together off-screen, they’ve been aligned on-screen as well.
