Rhyno Used To Turn All The TVs In Kmart To Wrestling To Help Ratings
Rhyno just wanted to help wrestling survive.
Wrestling ratings have been a talking point for decades, and ratings in general are a talking point in the television industry as shows with poor ratings can find themselves canceled.
Rhyno wanted to make sure that didn’t happen to wrestling.
“When I was a kid, my buddies during the summertime would sleep in. I was a morning person, so I’d get up and walk four blocks and cross the street to KMart. I’d go to the TV section. It was Saturday morning and Sunday. You have (WWF) Superstars. They probably didn’t care if I turned it all to wrestling. I figured that there are 30 TVs here, they will think 30 people are watching to help ratings, because I didn’t want wrestling canceled. I gotta tell WWE that if it wasn’t for me, they were probably looking at the ratings like, ‘In Michigan, a lot of people were watching Saturday and Sunday morning wrestling,'” said Rhyno on WWE Retrospective.
It worked as wrestling is still alive.
Elsewhere during the retrospective, Rhyno explained the kindness of Heath Slater towards his brother. You can find his full comments here.
