Ricochet: The Biggest Challenge Of My Career Has Been People Underestimating My Size

Ricochet talks about being underestimated for his size.

Ricochet is one of the top athletes in the world of professional wrestling, as his high flying style has caught the attention of fans for the past decade across several promotions, including WWE and AEW. However, Ricochet is small by most wrestler’s standards, which for him, is admittedly something that led to him being underestimated throughout his career.

While speaking to the F Ya’ll podcast, Ricochet was asked what was the biggest challenge of his career so far, with the Demand member noting that his size has been something he’s had to overcome in wrestling.

“The biggest challenge is my size. I’ve heard so many people… I’ve been wrestling since 2003, so going on 22 years. I don’t know, if I had a dollar for every time someone’s like, ‘ah, you’re too small, you’re never going to make it.’ If I had a dollar for- oh man, I would have been rich a long time ago. But again, I think that kind of, you know, the chip on your shoulder type thing to make you want to do it even harder. Especially with guys like Rey Mysterio, Amazing Red, and a lot of these guys out there that I looked up to. Even people like AJ Styles, are guys that, kind of changed the landscape for guys like myself and Will Ospreay and all these guys to come in and be, kind of household names. But man, I think that probably would have been the biggest challenge. It’s just people underestimating, just because you’re small doesn’t mean you can’t, you know, get to where you’re trying to go.”

MVP recently noted that Ricochet will make you look better than you are. You can read more about that here.
