Alter Bridge’s drummer comments on Adam Copeland using their song as an entrance theme.
While there have been many pro wrestling themes produced in companies such as WWE and AEW, with artists such as Def Rebel, Mike Ruckus, CFO$ and more contributing to themes in recent years. However, some have licensed theme music, including Adam Copeland, who uses Alter Bridge’s ‘Metalingus’ as his theme music in both AEW and WWE.
While speaking to Drumeo in a new interview, Alter Bridge’s drummer Scott Philips spoke about ‘Metalingus’ and how the band owe a huge debt of gratitude to Adam Copeland for using the song.
“I would say that’s probably pretty accurate and we have a huge debt of gratitude to Adam Copeland, Edge, the wrestler who chose this as his theme song. I don’t think any of us understood quite how impactful that would be to the success that Alter Bridge has had, but it’s a very drum-heavy song, lots of movement. Having that played in football stadiums for 70,000 people at WrestleMania and that become iconic to his brand certainly was more than we ever could have possibly envisioned that this song would do.”
Earlier this past year, the band reacted to Australian fans singing Metalingus to Copeland during AEW Grand Slam Australia earlier this year. You can read more about that here.
