Natalya explains why she became a pro wrestler while her sister’s did not.

Nattie Neidhart is one of WWE’s longest standing wrestlers, having been with the company for almost twenty years, coming from the legendary Hart family. Natalya also has two sisters, neither of which are pro wrestlers despite her foray into the sport.

While speaking to CTV News in a new interview, Natalya was asked about her sister’s not getting into pro wrestling while she did and why.

“I was always the ham of the girls. My sister Jenny, she’s a culinary artist. My little sister Muffy, she is a teacher. I was always the one that just liked to be in the spotlight. I loved being athletic, but I also loved theatrics. I loved theater. I loved drama. I loved just being theatrical. So for me, there was always a little bit more of a calling to do this thing called wrestling. But in our family, there was only men that had ever done it. My uncle’s, of course, you know, the most famous of being Bret the Hitman Hart, arguably, I think, and I’m biased, don’t get me wrong. I’m biased. I think he’s the greatest professional wrestler that’s ever lived. But my uncle’s Bret Hart, Owen Hart, who was iconic, and anybody that knew Owen knew that he was also athletic beyond words and such a special, special person. My other uncles, the British Bulldogs, my dad, Jim Neidhart, my grandfather, Stuart, all men that wrestled. So I was the first female in our family to do it and it wasn’t like it was an easy road because, of course, I didn’t really think it was something my grandfather wanted the girls doing. But, you know, when somebody tells you not to do something, what does it make you want to do?”

Natalya recently commented about the reaction of WWE following her husband’s neck injury. You can read more about that here.
