Rey Mysterio Returns On WWE Raw

Rey Mysterio made his return on Monday’s WWE Raw, confronting his son and WWE Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio.

Rey took exception to Dominik calling himself the greatest luchador of all time, naming El Santo, Blue Demon, and Eddie Guerrero. Dominik said, “You keep my father’s name out of your mouth” before saying he was better than all three of those men. Dominik said he was also better than Rey.

Rey said he was not going to let Dominik disrespect lucha libre. Dominik said that Rey is jealous, noting that Rey is stealing his mustache. Dominik told Rey to get out of the ring. Rey told him to understand three things: as long as he is around, Dominik would never be king of the luchadors, this would never be his ring, and he would never be the greatest Mysterio.

Dominik tried to hit Rey, but Rey blocked the punch and fired back. Rey ended up hitting the 619 on Dominik, but couldn’t hit the splash as Dominik rolled out of the ring.

Mysterio has been sidelined since the night before WrestleMania 41 when he suffered a groin injury. He was scheduled to face El Grande Americano at WrestleMania 41.

WrestleVotes first reported that Rey was at Raw with signs pointing to him appearing on TV.
