Throughout the years, there have been several successful amateur wrestlers who have had success who have crossed over into the pro wrestling world, including Angle, Brock Lesnar and more. Now, Angle believes that another rival from his career could have been an Olympic level wrestler.
While speaking to Going Ringside in a new interview, Kurt Angle was asked about what rival throughout his career could have had the most success in amateur wrestling, with Angle mentioning Chris Benoit.
“Chris Benoit. He had the ability to be a world-class wrestler. He’s Canadian. If he would have pursued that, he would have been on the Canadian Olympic team. Yeah, he was that good, yeah.”
Elsewhere in the same interview, Kurt recalled how Vince McMahon told him to sink or swim prior to his very first WWE promo. You can read more about that here.
