Kevin Von Erich says that there are no drugs in the wrestling business today.

During Kevin Von Erich’s day in the world of professional wrestling, a lot of pro wrestlers would self medicate, leading to an epidemic of early deaths across the industry. In the modern day, wrestlers have other ways to medicate their bodies as well as a shorter schedule for the majority of well known talents.

In a new interview with Refocused Radio, Kevin Von Erich spoke about talent in AEW and how there is no drugs in the wrestling business today.

“The day I did it, we were pretty shady characters, not my brothers and me, to tell the truth, we worked hard you know, it was all about getting better every day. But there are no drugs in the wrestling business today. The wrestlers are hard workers. They’re guys that are right out of college or the NFL, and they don’t want to waste any time. They want to do their very best so it’s a new world today, and the wrestling is showing it, too, because some of the athletes that we have are remarkable. It’s a great day, and I wish my brothers could see this.”

Elsewhere in another recent interview, Kevin noted that he doesn’t think he would have been able to wrestle with no fans during COVID-19 like his sons. You can read more about that here.
