Tony Khan Believes NJPW Is Focused On One Event For Wrestle Kingdom 20 Week

In 2025, AEW and NJPW partnered during Wrestle Kingdom week to hold Wrestle Dynasty on January 4, the night after Wrestle Kingdom 19.

Wrestle Kingdom 20 is approaching, and there has been no announcement about a potential joint show between AEW and NJPW taking place around Wrestle Kingdom.

“As it stands right now, because I think Wrestle Kingdom this year will be more focused on one event and there is such a huge thing happening there with President Tanahashi’s retirement, that I think people are all focused on the night of Wrestle Kingdom and the success they are happening, which I’m really happy to see and I’m excited about it. I think there is a lot of great momentum,” AEW President Tony Khan said at the AEW WrestleDream press conference when asked about an AEW-NJPW joint show by Phil Lindsey on Bleacher Report.

Hiroshi Tanahashi is set to have his retirement match at Wrestle Kingdom 20.

NJPW has announced New Year Dash for January 5.
