Matt Jackson: AEW’s Current Tag Division Is Probably The Most Elite Tag Division Since The Beginning
Matt Jackson has a ton of praise for AEW’s tag team division.
In 2019, AEW kicked off their existence with a loaded tag team roster that included duos like the Young Bucks, Best Friends, Santana & Ortiz, The Lucha Brothers, Private Party, and SoCal Uncensored.
Now, in 2025, the roster looks much different. While the Young Bucks are still around, they’re now surrounded by fresh duos like Brodido, the Death Riders, FTR, the Hurt Syndicate, JetSpeed, Paragon, and many others.
Speaking with Jon Alba of The Takedown on Sports Illustrated, Matt Jackson made a bold statement, saying that he’d put up the company’s current tag team division against the 2019 tag team division.
“Back to the tag division, it’s probably the most elite tag division since the beginning when AEW first started. I would put 2019 AEW up with 2025 any day of the week.”
