Jeff Hardy: To Tell You The Truth, I Didn’t Think I’d Be Alive In 2025
Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy reflect on their battle with Father Time following their final match with Bubba Ray Dudley and D-Von Dudley, The Dudley Boyz.
Following the final match between the two Attitude Era tag teams at TNA Bound For Glory 2025, Bubba and D-Von retired, handing The Hardy Boyz their boots to signify the end of their careers. It was known that D-Von would be hanging up the boots, but the retirement of Bubba Ray, also known as Bully Ray, came as a surprise.
Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy discussed their mortality and how they’ve managed to stay in good health in a conversation with Justin Barrasso of Undisputed that was released after the match.
“The biggest difference between then and now is Father Time,” said Matt Hardy. “The amount of abuse we’ve put our bodies through.”
“Tell you the truth, I didn’t think I’d be alive in 2025,” said Jeff Hardy, who credited cold plunges with helping him stay mentally and physically in shape. “It was madness back in the early 2000s.”
When reflecting on the relationship that they have with Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley, Matt Hardy credited the chemistry that has bonded them together for the last quarter-century.
“We created so many special moments over so many years,” said Matt Hardy. “We’ve worked so closely together that that chemistry is closely ingrained in all of us.”
