The Rock is a fan of Donkey Kong.
The Rock has never been the most outspoken gamer. Still, he has been featured in some of the most iconic commercials for the original WWF SmackDown! video game on PlayStation and the commercial for WWF Wrestlemania 2000 on the Nintendo 64.
He’s also featured in a cinematic release based on the Rampage video game series. However, it’s a different rampaging ape that his favorite video game is based around. During a brief interview with IGN, Rock noted that his favorite stand-up arcade video game is the original Donkey Kong, released in 1981. When asked if he played any of the other releases in the Donkey Kong franchise, Rock responded with one of his iconic lines and said it didn’t matter.
The Rock also noted that Madden is his favorite video game series on consoles.
The Rock is currently doing media to promote the biopic about Mark Kerr. He has been largely absent from WWE TV in 2025, having not appeared since the WWE Elimination Chamber event in March.
Donkey Kong, on the other hand, returned to the spotlight in 2025 with the Donkey Kong Bananza release on Nintendo Switch 2.
