Kaito Kiyomiya Shows Up At NJPW Destruction In Kobe, Issues Challenge To Hiroshi Tanahashi For NOAH’s Wrestle Odyssey Event

Hiroshi Tanahashi received a surprise from NOAH.
The second match on the bill for NJPW Destruction in Kobe was a singles bout between Great-O-Khan and Hiroshi Tanahashi. Tanahashi is on his road to retirement as his final match will be at Wrestle Kingdom 20 in January 2026.
After Tanahashi scored the win, Pro Wrestling NOAH’s Kaito Kiyomiya showed up. He grabbed a microphone and spoke about Tanahashi inviting him to compete at the NJPW Tanahashi Jam event. He main evented that show in a tag match that saw Kiyomiya and Ryohei Oiwa fall in defeat to Tanahashi and Naomichi Marufuji.
Kiyomiya expressed that he wants Tanahashi to come to NOAH so they can wrestle in a singles match before Tanahashi retires. He then suggested NOAH’s Wrestle Odyssey event on October 11th at RyĆgoku Sumo Hall. Tanahashi and Kiyomiya then shook hands.
