Kyle Fletcher comments on how Jeff Hardy was his first favorite in pro wrestling.
For every pro wrestler in the industry, someone before them has helped to influence their love of the sport, with many pointing to specific inspirations for what made them begin training in the ring. For Fletcher, his first influence is one that many wrestlers have named over the past decade or so.
While speaking to WMUL FM’s Rope Break to promote this Saturday’s edition of AEW Collision, Kyle Fletcher was asked who were his inspirations in the world of pro wrestling.
“I mean, I think like anyone, I had my favorites. Jeff Hardy was my first favorite, the man that made me fall in love with wrestling. I think you can probably see things in my wrestling style that emulate that. Then also the Miz was another one that I loved growing up. I kind of take inspiration from all these people. Then my love of Japanese wrestling kind of took over. So then it was Jushin Liger. He first got me into it. Prince Devitt as well, and then one of the founders of AEW, Kenny Omega. They were kind of my guys, and then I still take inspiration from them nowadays, but I think like, they really kind of molded me into- molded what I love about pro wrestling. I think those guys kind of encapsulate it. So yeah, I took a lot of inspiration from those people.”
Fletcher is currently scheduled to face off with Komander in a TNT Championship open challenge on tonight’s edition of AEW Collision. You can read more about that here.
