Charles Robinson Says He Was Denied Permission To Be At Ric Flair’s Last Match
Ric Flair had his final WWE match at WrestleMania 24, losing to Shawn Michaels. Charles Robinson served as the referee for the match.
Flair would go on to wrestle a handful of times after, including his actual last match in 2022 at a standalone event built around his final bout.
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Robinson said he was denied permission to attend the event.
“Ric, in his defense, he had to do what he had to do. He had to do another match. I had no problem with that. This is a hard business. I never want to step away from this business. Stepping away is a hard thing to do. When he did his other retirement match in Nashville, I think Mike Chioda did that. He got bumped and everyone was like, ‘Where is Charles? He’s going to run down the ramp.’ I was denied permission to go, which I should’ve been,” said Robinson.
Robinson was dubbed Lil Naitch during his time in WCW due to his resemblance to Flair.
Elsewhere during the interview, Robinson described the worst bump he ever took. You can find his comments here.
