Ricky Saints On Ignoring NXT-TNA Brawl: That Had Nothing To Do With Me, I Saw An Opportunity And I Went For It

Ricky Saints had one thing on his mind.

Tuesday’s episode of WWE NXT was capped off in a big way, as members from the TNA roster fought members of the NXT roster in a huge brawl.

While all of this was happening, Ricky Saints approached the ringside area and attempted to take the NXT Championship. Instead, Oba Femi emerged from seemingly thin air and prevented Starks from taking the title.

The moment went viral online, with a ton of fans finding humor in Saints’ determination. Speaking with the Going Ringside podcast for a new interview, Ricky Saints was asked about the moment.

“I saw the NXT Championship amidst all of this chaos between TNA and NXT. Listen, they’re fighting, they had nothing to do with me, I saw an opportunity and I went for it.”

Saints went on to brag about his ability to be locked in on one thing, even in a hectic situation.

“I’m good at being zoned in. I can do [that] a lot and lock in on something. That’s what I did, I went for that title because that’s ultimately what I feel like is going to be mine. Oba had other ideas of course, it is what it is but I’m glad that I was able to walk through the minefield and get to where I wanted to get to, which was the NXT Championship on that podium.”
