AJ Styles praises and clarifies Stephanie Vaquer’s title winning finish at WWE Wrestlepalooza.

At WWE Wrestlepalooza, Stephanie Vaquer would have her shot at the WWE Women’s World Championship that she earned with a battle royal victory back at WWE Evolution. Vaquer would win the bout after hitting a finish that for many fans and Michael Cole, was mislabeled as a spiral tap, a move that AJ Styles knows quite well.

In a new social media post, AJ was asked about what he thought of Vaquer’s ‘Spiral Tap, with Styles clarifying in a tweet that it was not in fact the move he has utilized in the past. AJ would note that it was indeed ‘phenomenal’ however.

Styles has not hit the move since the early to mid 2010s, and admitted in an interview earlier this year that he had ‘lost it’.

Elsewhere in another interview, Styles explained what led to him initially using the move instead of a shooting star press. You can read more about that here.

Vaquer has previously hit the Spiral Tap in WWE, and admitted that being a part of the WWE Performance Center allowed her to train the move enough to execute it in matches. You can read more about that here.
