Seth Rollins: The Tush Push Is A Trash Play. It’s Full On Cheating

The Tush Push, a play often run by the Philadelphia Eagles with quarterback Jalen Hurts driving ahead and getting pushed for a yard, has come under much criticism over the past year as no team can stop it.
Fans have argued that the offensive linemen are lining up incorrectly or moving early, giving the offense an unfair advantage.
Speaking to Jimmy Traina on the SI Media Podcast, Seth Rollins was asked for his thoughts on the play.
“It’s a trash play. It should be gone. I don’t agree with it. I don’t like it. I never liked it. I don’t like it. It’s full on cheating. Just grabbing your quarterback and pushing him forward. I think that should be completely outlawed in general in the game. You can’t do in the middle of the field, why can you do it when it’s one yard? It makes no sense to me. If you look at the slow-mo, you saw the guards and they are miles ahead of the snap of the ball. It’s a clear penalty, and it’s five yards. It’s gotta go. You gotta revamp it, find out how to make it a legal play or get rid of it. It feels like a cheat code. Anytime you have one, one and a half yards, just line up and throw your quarterback forward. That’s not a football play to me. It’s a gross overstep. You’re finding a loophole. It’s time to tighten that up. You wanna run a sneak and get a yard, do it the right way,” stated Rollins.
The Eagles scored on the tush push on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.
Elsewhere during the interview, Rollins commented on the “Ruse of the Century.” You can find his comments here.
