Gates Of Agony Respond To MVP’s Comments About Passing The Airport Test, Toa Liona Says That His Stamp Of Approval ‘Speaks Volumes’

Bishop Kaun and Toa Liona respond to MVP.
MVP recently made some headlines after saying that he sees money in the Gates Of Agony team, noting that both Kaun and Liona pass the airport test — meaning that they stand out from the average person in a public area.
During a recent episode of Fightful Overbooked’s In The Weeds podcast, Kaun first responded to MVP’s comments and gave him credit for speaking facts.
“He’s been saying nice things about us since he met us or even on Dynamite, months ago. ‘Those guys are going to be somebody.’ He’s speaking facts. We’re in the airport, getting stopped, people are like, ‘What do y’all do? Are y’all fighters? Are you pro athletes? Y’all do something.’ We look like money.”
Toa Liona followed that up by saying that he’s happy that someone of MVP’s magnitude has put a spotlight on him and Kaun.
“He sees our work ethic behind it, too. We don’t just rely on looks and what our potential can be. We’re willing to work for everything we’ve gotten, and we want to continue to work more. This is just the scrape of the iceberg. We’re happy that someone like him and someone in his position and platform is putting a light on us when the only time we’ve gotten that was very minimal. This is a great experience and showcase for us.”
Kaun continued on and recalled watching MVP and Bobby Lashley when he was growing up.
“It’s so surreal. Growing up and watching wrestling, we see guys we’re trying to emulate. They are future Hall of Famers and have their own legacies. I can’t fathom what’s happening, it’s insane to me.”
Liona finished off the topic by saying that the Hurt Syndicate’s stamp of approval speaks volumes in itself.
“To back up what he said, the credibility that these guys hold, for us, we’ve always had confidence in what we’re capable of doing, but we’re also realistic. Until we do something, can we do it? A good example is, ‘I lifted this X amount of weight, I should be able to do this.’ Until you do it, can you?’ That’s how we felt our entire careers. We know we can move and do everything in the ring. We know we can do everything outside of the ring. Until we got our opportunity to do it, can you really? This entire program, we’re showcasing to the world that we can do it. To get that stamp of approval from the Hurt Syndicate speaks volumes.”
