Daniel Garcia To Face Katsuyori Shibata At AEW Tailgate Brawl Ahead Of AEW All Out

The rubber match between Daniel Garcia and Katsuyori Shibata will go down at AEW Tailgate Brawl.

The bout was confirmed on the September 17th episode of AEW Dynamite. Garcia, standing next to Claudio Castagnoli, Marina Shafir, and Wheeler Yuta issued the challenge in a video package. Shibata, flanked by Powehouse Hobbs and Samoa Joe, accepted.

AEW Tailgate Brawl airs at 2 p.m. ET on TNT, one hour before AEW All Out.

Shibata defeated Garcia at ROH Death Before Dishonor 2023, successfully defending the ROH Pure Championship. Garcia evened the score on the January 11, 2025 episode of AEW Collision, defeating Shibata and successfully retaining the AEW TNT Championship.

Plus, Joe & Hobbs will face The WorkHorsemen (JD Drake & Anthony Henry) at AEW Tailgate Brawl

  • Harley Cameron, Mina Shirakawa, Queen Aminata, and Willow Nightingale vs. Megan Bayne, Penelope Ford, and Triangle of Madness (Julia Hart and Skye Blue)
  • Daniel Garcia vs. Katsuyori Shibata
  • The Opps (Samoa Joe & Powerhouse Hobbs) vs. The WorkHorsemen (JD Drake & Anthony Henry)
