Raven Had Final Say On The Cut Of His Recent Documentary, Made Sure It Showed All The Negative As Well As The Positive

Raven discusses his recent documentary, noting that he had final say over how it was cut.

Last month, a documentary covering Raven’s life and career premiered with the title ‘Nevermore: The Raven Effect’, and now Raven has spoken about how he had the final say on the how the documentary was cut.

While speaking during a live recording of the Major Wrestling Figure podcast, Raven spoke about the documentary, noting that he made sure that it had both the negative as well as the positive showcased in the story his career.

“The documentary, it’s a look at my life and career, warts and all. I had a final say on the cut, so I made sure that it showed all the negative as well as the positive. I felt that the only way, I told the director, who’s a really good guy, Geordie Day. He made a film before on Probert, Bob Probert. I don’t know if anybody’s seen that, but I heard that was really good, and another one on Manson, he won some kind of award for… and he had to get to the question, well, why did a director want to make a documentary about you? Okay, let me answer. He heard me on Austin’s podcast, thought I was interesting, and thought I’d make a great documentary subject. So I was like, yeah, so it’s pretty cool. So, you know, at first I thought he was full of shit because- but then he backed it up, and he told me what he had done, and I saw it, and I saw clips of it, and I thought it was really good. But I wanted to make it all, you know, the negative, too. Show all my baggage, all my issues and I think he captured, did a really good job. It’s funny, it’s like, do I like the film? Yeah, I think it’s a great film. Do I like watching it? No.”

Elsewhere during Raven’s appearance on Cardona and Myers’ podcast, he would struggle to recall the name of one Zack Ryder, despite Cardona sitting right next to him during the live recording. You can read more about that here.
