Stephanie Vaquer Says She Came Up With The Devil’s Kiss By Mistake

Stephanie Vaquer popularized the Devil’s Kiss, a move where she traps her opponent’s head in a head scissors and then slams their head into the mat by going up and down with her lower body.
The move gained popularity thanks to Booker T’s commentary and reaction when Vaquer is slamming her opponent’s head down.
Speaking to Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Stephanie Vaquer was asked how she came up with the move.
“Mistake. I was training. I tried to do something with my coach. I said, ‘If I do this and this.’ I don’t remember it well, but the position changed and I said, ‘This is nice. You can take a DDT, but many DDTs, and not to the neck.’ I said, ‘Okay, I like this.’ I remember the first time I did it in Mexico, and many people said it looked weird and not good. I said, ‘No, I like it.’ ‘Maybe don’t do it. It looks weird.’ ‘No, I like it.’ I kept it for a long time. Now, look. It’s a big move,” she said.
Booker T will be on commentary of Vaquer’s return to NXT at NXT Homecoming on Tuesday when she teams with Rhea Ripley & Lyra Valkyria against Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, & Jazmyn Nyx).
