Dominik Mysterio Captures AAA Mega Title At WWE x AAA Worlds Collide, Forces Rey Mysterio To Put Title Around His Waist
There is a new AAA Mega Champion.
Headlining WWE x AAA Worlds Collide was the AAA Mega Championship match between Dominik Mysterio and the champion El Hijo del Vikingo.
As the bout was ongoing, there was involvement from Judgment Day’s Finn Bálor and J.D. McDonagh. Dragon Lee came down to offset them. When Bálor and McDonagh ganged up on Lee, Rey Mysterio came to save him and fought Judgment Day off.
Back in the ring, Vikingo hit a 630 splash on Dominik, and as he was pinning him, El Grande Americano pulled the referee out of the ring.
Dominik gathered himself and went up for a frog splash and pin, but a new referee had to run to the ring and only got a two count. Later in the bout, Vikingo tried to pull El Grande’s mask off, but El Grande slipped an object to Dominik.
Dominik had a mask on at this point, and he slipped the object in between his mask. He then did a torpedo heatbutt to Vikingo and knocked him out. Mysterio went up for a frog splash and pin, and that secured him the win and the AAA Mega Championship.
Rey Mysterio showed up afterward because before the bout, Dominik stated that when he won, he wanted his father to put the title around his waist. Rey handed him the belt, but Dominik shoved it back at his father and told him to ‘put the f*cking belt’ around him.
Rey did that, and Dominik instructed him to get out of the ring. Judgment Day (Finn Bálor, J.D. McDonagh, Roxanne Perez & Raquel Rodriguez) came down to celebrate, and El Grande joined in as well. Dominik is now the AAA Mega and WWE Intercontinental Champion.
