Lucha Libre Rebelión & Tyris Wrestling Cut Ties with El Ibérico

Lucha Libre Rebelión & Tyris Wrestling announced they cut ties with independent wrestler Javier Vives, also known as El Ibérico.

Lucha Libre Rebelión & Tyris Wrestling posted a statement addressing the situation involving Javier Vives (El Ibérico).

They announced they cut ties with him after the family of an underage fan complained about him appearing at the event, informing them that Vives had tried to flirt with the fan on Instagram.

Lucha Libre Rebelión specified they found it unacceptable that the situation happened, hence why they have cut all ties with Vives.

The complete statement is listed below.

Lucha Libre Rebelión and Tyris Wrestling would like to publicly share our stance and actions taken in response to the events involving Javier Vives / El Ibérico.

First and foremost, our priority has always been to protect the privacy and well-being of the individuals involved in this situation. Out of respect for their privacy, we decided not to issue a public statement at that time, not with the intention of hiding the truth, but to avoid any exposure that could harm or upset her and/or her family.

On July 27, 2025, during a Tyris Wrestling show in which El Ibérico participated, the family of an underage fan expressed their discomfort with his presence at the event. They informed us that Javier Vives, from his Instagram account as El Ibérico, had been chatting with their daughter with the intention of flirting, and they expressly asked us to settle the matter since he did not respond after learning the girl’s age.

From that moment on, the Tyris Wrestling and Lucha Libre Rebelión team began a direct and constant dialogue with the family and the victim, with the aim of making them feel heard, respected, and supported. We immediately informed them of our decision to nip this problem in the bud, removing Javier Vives from any activity related to our promotions.

Lucha Libre Rebelión immediately dismissed Javier Vives, severing all professional ties with him, both as a wrestler and in any other role within the association. Since then, no Spanish promoter has hired him again.

We want to make it clear that the problem never went beyond a few conversations and, although there is nothing illegal about it, we believe that using a position of power as a public figure to flirt, and even more so if they are minors, is an unacceptable practice that must be completely eradicated from the world of wrestling and sport in general.

Everything has now come to light as a result of word of mouth spreading rapidly. Still, we took action at the time to resolve the situation as quickly as possible without compromising anyone’s privacy or wanting to create a media circus around it. Our position on these types of situations is firm: we are always on the side of the victim, and we act decisively and responsibly. Rebelión and Tyris are and will continue to be a safe space for struggle, respect, and unity.

We apologize if anyone feels disappointed about handling this matter privately. We reiterate that we did so out of respect for the victim and to protect her, but we understand that the situation has now changed. We are issuing this statement with complete transparency so that everyone knows what happened. The speculation and rumors we have been reading on social media can be put to rest.

If anything else happens related to this case or any other case involving us, we will communicate the information through our official channels.
