Matt Hardy Comments On Whether WWE Will Buy TNA Wrestling

Matt Hardy is asked about whether or not WWE will buy TNA Wrestling outright.

WWE has a working relationship with TNA Wrestling. As part of that working relationship, WWE Legends Matt Hardy and Jeff Hardy have been able to appear on WWE NXT as the TNA Wrestling World Tag Team Champions. They’ve also made appearances at ringside at WWE SummerSlam.

While WWE currently has a working relationship with TNA Wrestling, it recently bought Lucha Libre AAA. On the most recent episode of the Extreme Life of Matt Hardy podcast, Hardy was asked whether he believes WWE will one day acquire TNA Wrestling completely.

Matt Hardy remains unsure and knows that WWE could change its mind on a decision like that at any time. Currently, he believes they want TNA to be a partner and operate independently. He also reiterated that he thinks WWE wants TNA to grow and be a strong competitor for AEW.

“Once again, who knows? WWE could do anything. I feel like right now, WWE wants TNA to be a partner, someone that’s on its own, that is doing its own business in some capacity that they can use as a partner that can be there to be elevated as a strong promotion, maybe to one day compete with AEW,” he said. “I’m just saying this hypothetically. I’m just saying as something that is right underneath WWE, there’s TNA, and they’re doing this. ‘We want to build these people. So it’s another organization that we are friends with, that we have a say with, that we can work together, we can have a partnership, and they can help us remain as the top number one promotion in the world.’

“With that being said, I feel like that’s kind of the direction the relationship is right now, and it seems like everybody’s pretty cool with it. Will they buy them in the future? That’s always a possibility. WWE, buying anything is always a possibility, but as of right now, I don’t see it. I don’t see it happening anytime in the immediate future.”
