Anthony Bowens Explains His Attacks On Max Caster, ‘If You Only Knew What He Put Me Through’
Anthony Bowens is “The Pride of Pro Wrestling.” He’s also proud of what he’s done to Max Caster in recent weeks on AEW Collision.
After defeating Max Caster on July 26 on that week’s episode of AEW Collision, Anthony Bowens continued to attack his former tag team partner. He only stopped when Billy Gunn, the mentor of both men, pulled him off Caster.
In a recent interview with MuscleManMalcolm, Anthony Bowens explains why he has been so aggressive towards Max Caster lately. Bowens says he understands the viewer’s perspective that it seems like he’s gone overboard, but people don’t know what Max has put him through.
“Okay, from a viewer’s perspective, I can understand how you think I might have been a little bit excessive in my beating of Max Caster; however, if you only knew what that man put me through for these four years, going on five years, at AEW, you would understand why I went berserk. I have not had the opportunity to tell my side of things in depth of what this man, the chaos — how much I feared for my job. How much chaos he brought, how many times I had to defend him. So, yeah, when I get the opportunity to go out there and whip his ass, I’m gonna go out here and kick his ass.”
Anthony Bowens initially reemerged as a fan favorite after The Acclaimed split. Still, over the past few months, Max Caster has regained the audience’s adulation, leaving Bowens frustrated with his career trajectory, as well as with Billy Gunn and the audience.
