Francesco Akira Undergoes Successful Surgery For Fractured Wrist

A successful operation for Francesco Akira.

Three-time IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion Francesco Akira last wrestled on August 22nd at Revolution Pro Wrestling’s Global Wars U.K. show.

He suffered a right wrist fracture during the bout, and New Japan Pro-Wrestling later announced that Akira would be undergoing surgery. Taking to X, Akira shared that he underwent the surgery on 8/26:

I had surgery last Friday, and it went smoothly. It was really painful, but from now on, I’ll focus on recovering little by little and come back even stronger! šŸ’Ŗ

Akira had been wrestling in Mexico for CMLL. He last wrestled in Japan during the Best of the Super Juniors tour. He finished with 10 points in the A block in that tournament.
