Booker T Says He’s Never Watched An AEW Show Because Of Stuff Like The Gummy Bear Spot, Which He Didn’t Watch

The Lights Out Steel Cage match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door featured many memorable spots, including a fork through an ear, a fall through multiple tables, and gummy bears.
The Young Bucks (Matt Jackson & Nick Jackson) thought they were going to use tacks, glass, or some other weapon stashed in a bag, but when they dumped the contents out, gummy bears spilled on the mat.
The gummy bears were used against them, as they went face-first into the gummy bears and shoved them into their mouths.
Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T was asked if he watched Forbidden Door.
“I didn’t see any of it,” he said.
Booker was on the call for NXT Heatwave, which took place in the evening on August 24, the same day as Forbidden Door.
When he was told of the gummy bear spot, he asked, “Did they sell the gummy bears?”
Told that the gummy bears were sold, Booker stated, “I’ve said it before. AEW is trying to change the way people look at professional wrestling. No, I didn’t watch it. That right there is perhaps one of the reasons I would not watch an AEW show. I can honestly sit here and tell you that I’ve never watched an AEW show. I’ve watched bits and pieces. A lot of that has been on the internet. I’ve never sat and watched a show because of stuff like that.”
Booker said he went to see Hamilton and it almost brought a tear to his eye multiple times, closing his story with, “I will never feel that way walking away from an AEW show. Never. Never in a million years.”
Booker is a commentator for NXT, which featured a blindfold match on Tuesday’s episode.
