Faby Apache, Xia Brookside, Candice LeRae & Lainey Reid To Compete In Tourney, Winner Faces Sol Ruca For WWE Women’s Speed Title At NXT No Mercy

Sol Ruca’s challenger to be determined via a tournament.

At NXT Heatwave, the announcement was made that the WWE men’s and women’s Speed Championships will be defended in NXT going forward.

More details about that were shared on the 8/26 edition of NXT on The CW. General Manager Ava reiterated that a tournament will begin on September 2nd to determine a new number one contender to Sol Ruca’s Women’s Speed Championship.

The following names are competing in that mini tournament:

Faby Apache (AAA)
Candice LeRae
Lainey Reid
Xia Brookside (TNA)

Scheduled for the 9/2 NXT is Xia Brookside versus Candice LeRae. Brookside last wrestled for WWE in 2022 when she was signed to the company. She was a part of the NXT U.K. brand. She was released in August 2022.

The winner of the number one contender’s tournament will challenge Sol Ruca for the Women’s Speed Title at NXT No Mercy.
