Mick Foley Says Cody Rhodes And John Cena ‘Really Delivered The Goods’ At WWE SummerSlam

Mick Foley reflects on an eventful SummerSlam weekend.

On August 2nd and 3rd earlier this month, WWE presented their first ever two night edition of their SummerSlam Premium Live Event. In the main event of night two, Cody Rhodes would challenge WWE Champion John Cena for the belt in a Street Fight. The bout was widely praised by fans, with Rhodes coming away with the victory and beginning his second reign as WWE Champion.

While speaking to Kron4 in a new interview, Mick Foley was asked if a recent match blew him away, with Foley highlighting the recent main event bout between Cody and Cena.

“Well, I was impressed with so many of the SummerSlam matches. Cody and Cena, I think really delivered the goods. And I think what ‘Mami’ (Rhea Ripley) is doing briefly is sensational — I love that. Becky Lynch is back, so I think WWE is looking at some really good days. They’ve done a great job getting their talent ready for the main stage, and that pays off in the end.”

Ripley and Lynch also featured as part of SummerSlam in women’s championship matchups, with mixed results for the pair.
