Fans At DDT Show Erupt In Applause When It Was Announced To Them That Konosuke Takeshita Won NJPW G1 Climax 35 Tournament
Takeshita gets love from DDT.
New Japan Pro-Wrestling’s G1 Climax 35 Final took place on August 17th, and the finals saw Konosuke Takeshita clash with EVIL.
In what was a 26-minute bout, Takeshita was able to emerge victorious to win the tournament and secure his shot at the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship.
Takeshita is contracted to AEW, New Japan, and DDT Pro-Wrestling. DDT hosted a show on August 17th in Osaka, which is Takeshita’s hometown. It was announced to the crowd that Takeshita won the G1, and they erupted in applause. Takeshita has been a part of DDT since 2012 and is a five-time KO-D Openweight Champion.

Takeshita stated in his post-match comments that he is looking to challenge Zack Sabre Jr. for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship before Wrestle Kingdom 20 in January 2026.
