Karrion Kross Wanted To Go Big With WWE SummerSlam Match Ending, Was Open To Killing The Character

Karrion Kross opens up about SummerSlam.

During night one of WWE SummerSlam, Karrion Kross faced off against Sami Zayn in a singles contest. This was the culmination to the on-and-off feud between Kross and Zayn that began earlier this year.

Speaking with Ariel Helwani on a recent episode of The MMA Hour, Kross talked about wanting the match to be bigger, saying that he wanted to be nuked in that match.

“Very grateful to be there. Very happy to be working with Sami. If I could have done it differently, I would have wanted to have blown it off bigger. Story format-wise, the heel is terrorizing the babyface for an extended period of time. Babyface has to get his comeuppance at some point. I know a lot of people wanted to see Kross win the match. If we’re following basic psychology here, babyface wins. No problem. I would have liked to have gotten nuked in that match, though. Something really big. Something crazy. A spectacle moment. We had a moment at the end where he had the pipe. It was that Luke Skywalker moment. ‘Is he gonna go to the Dark Side?’ I would have liked to have gone bigger. Maybe we chase up somewhere really high and maybe I slip so we protect his integrity as a good guy. I slip and fall off something really high. I would have liked to have gone bigger. Maybe a scaffold with lava and alligators with top hats.”

Kross continued on, explaining his stance in detail.

“Sure, why not? These people paid good money for these tickets at SummerSlam. Why not give them something like ‘Oh my God. You remember that.’ It was a crazy card. Lots of stipulations and different match types. Belts. I would have liked to have done the match in a bigger fashion if I was allowed to. At the end of the day, you have your marching orders. Everybody does.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Kross revealed that he was originally set for the Raw after SummerSlam. Check out his full comments by clicking here.
