Mark Wheeler: Mystery Wrestling Events Are An Actual Mystery. It’s Always A Good Time

Evil Uno began Mystery Wrestling in 2019 with 17 events being run under the brand, which features a complete mystery card for the fans.

The wrestlers aren’t always sure who they’re wrestling either.

“They are fun,” Mark Wheeler told Jeremy Lambert & Joel Pearl on In The Weeds when asked about Mystery Wrestling “I sometimes don’t know who I’m wrestling until I get there. They actually are a mystery. The concept is cool. Evil Uno is a genius. I have done the druid thing where you’re in the druid hood and in a four-way. I’ve done a tag match with all doors, we broke like 19 doors. I’ve probably been there four or five times and it’s cool because, as a fan, you don’t know what you’re going to get, but you know it’s going to be entertaining. To have a show branded as a ‘mystery’ and it actually work is hard. It could be local guys, all guys on TV, a mixture. He has a good mix because his students are very good. He’s a good coach. He has his base guys who are very good, and then you have crazy names come in and these weird matches. It’s cool. Every time I go, I never know what I’m going to do, and every time I have a good time.”

On Monday going into Tuesday, Mystery Wrestling set the unofficial record for the longest match ever, raising over $33,000 CAD for the Canadian Cancer Society.

Wheeler will compete at C4 Fighting Back, the annual event raising money to fight cancer. Fans can donate here.
