Jelly Roll Says Randy Orton Deserved Mainstream Media Attention, Is Proud He Brought WWE To Late Night

Jelly Roll is honored to be one of the celebrities bringing WWE back to the mainstream.

Jelly Roll recently competed at WWE SummerSlam. At the event, he teamed with Randy Orton against Drew McIntyre and Logan Paul. His involvement in SummerSlam brought extra eyes to WWE. One of the ways WWE garnered more attention was by having all four competitors appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live. Now, Jelly Roll is reflecting on the experience and the opportunity he’s had to bring more attention to the WWE Universe.

Speaking on the ‘What Do You Wanna Talk About?’ podcast, Jelly Roll told Cody Rhodes that he believed Randy Orton deserved mainstream exposure and expressed joy in bringing WWE back to the world of late-night television.

“I think I’m starting to tell a story in the ring, but more so, and I’m proud of this, I’m starting to tell the story outside of it, which is probably the value I thought I brought to this the most, if I brought any value at all. When Bad Bunny did it, he immediately brought a new set of eyeballs onto it. I remember calling Randy super early when we were deciding to do this and being like, ‘Will you do mainstream media with me? I think you deserve it.

“Wrestling doesn’t get enough of it. It breaks my heart that you haven’t been on a late-night show in 21 years. I’m going to host this Kimmel gig, let’s do something.’ Immediately. That’s what I’m the most proud of so far. I’ve been able to be one of the first guys in a long time to take a wrestling storyline outside of WWE presence or as far mainstream media as you can do. Not just a conversation, we got to do the full thing. We got to really bring a segment to late night television. I’m proud of that.”

Jelly Roll also revealed that he pitched to lose his match at WWE SummerSlam. Learn more here.
