REPORT: John Cena & Kevin Hart To Star In & Produce Netflix Action-Comedy

Hart and Cena are collaborating on a Netflix project.

There’s a story up on the Deadline website which notes that Kevin Hart and John Cena will be starring in and producing an action-comedy that will be featured on the Netflix streaming service.

Writers Jon Hoeber and Erich Hoeber sold Netflix on the pitch for ‘The Leading Man,’ which is based on the comic book series.

While still in early development, the film’s synopsis is listed as follows:

When a self-absorbed movie star (Cena) discovers that his co-star/man in the chair (Hart) is an actual agent, he’s forced to swallow his pride and accept that action stars aren’t really action heroes…while trying to save the world.

Cena is coming off of losing the Undisputed WWE Championship and being attacked by a returning Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam. He is appearing on the 8/8 Friday Night SmackDown to address those events.
