Ric Flair Speaks About Hulk Hogan’s ‘Complicated’ Legacy: “I Hate That They Always Have To Mention That”

Flair weighs in on Bollea’s passing.

At the age of 71, Terry Bollea a.k.a. Hulk Hogan passed away. Many of his former colleagues and peers have weighed in on his passing.

One of those individuals was Ric Flair, as he guest appeared on The Ariel Helwani Show. Flair suggested that Bollea may have been tired from all the surgeries he underwent and the overall wear and tear on his body from his time in the ring.

Flair added that Bollea’s passing makes him anxious because he does not have an ‘ache or pain’ in his body despite his past health issues. He light-heartedly joked that he could be next.

“I think he just got tired. I mean, 11 back operations, hip replacements. Now, a neck surgery. How much can your body take? We’ve all put ourselves in ridiculous positions in the business but, here I am, I’m five years older than Hulk and I don’t hurt at all. I’ve had some serious health (issues), but I don’t have an ache or pain in my body, and it bothers me and of course, it gives me anxiety that I could be next,” Flair laughed.

A subject surrounding Bollea’s passing is the racist remarks he made during a private conversation, which ended up being released to the public. Bollea used the n-word multiple times and stated that he was racist.

Flair addressed Bollea’s ‘complicated’ legacy and said he hates when people bring that up.

“To be honest with you, I knew you were gonna ask me this question and I hoped you would, because I kept track of it. If 128 people text me and not one negative word. Everybody has their pitfalls and things happen, and we don’t have control over it but… whatever that was going on that made somebody uncomfortable, it blew right by him. I hate that they always have to mention that. But that’s just the way the social media works but, trust me, he was anything but that, and he paid the price — anything bad, excuse me.”

Another name that opened up about Bollea’s passing was his longtime friend and manager, Jimmy Hart. To read Hart’s comments, click here.
