Ethan Page Introduces Canadian-Themed North American Title, Defending Against Santino Marella On 7/29 WWE NXT
Page and Marella to meet in a singles match.
The reigning NXT North American Champion, Ethan Page, took to the ring on the 7/22 NXT on The CW. Page tossed the North American Title to the wayside and introduced a Canadian-themed version of the belt.
He proceeded to sing the Canadian national anthem, but was interrupted by TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella.
Marella spoke about being from Canada and how Page was speaking about the USA does not represent all Canadians. Santino shared that he was talking to NXT General Manager Ava and it was decided that Page will defend his title against Marella on the 7/29 NXT.
It’ll be Marella’s first match for WWE since he participated in the 2020 women’s Royal Rumble match as ‘Santina Marella.’
In addition to that match, two singles bouts were added to the 7/29 lineup:
- Jaida Parker vs. Jazmyn Nyx
- Fallon Henley vs. Lash Legend
