Cody Rhodes: I Did Not Flinch When Politics And The Final Boss Came For My Soul And My Spot

On July 8th, Cody Rhodes sent a tweet that read, “Don’t flinch. Thank you all for riding with me all this time. Love you for it. Excited for what we do next.”
Fans wondered exactly what he meant with the message, and on the July 18th episode of WWE SmackDown, he explained.
Cody noted that the tweet was overanalyzed and overscrutinized, which was never his intention.
He continued, “I did not flinch when just up 35, I returned at WrestleMania and I came back home. I did not flinch when I stood across from a future Hall of Famer with a muscle hanging off the bone. I did not flinch when I stood across from The Beast. I did not flinch when I went back-to-back in the Royal Rumble. I did not flinch when I faced my friend, my brother Jey Uso. I did not flinch when I faced my mentor Randy Orton. I did not flinch when politics and The Final Boss came for my soul and came for my spot.”
He then said he flinched at WrestleMania 41 against John Cena, which cost him the Undisputed WWE Championship.
Cody Rhodes opened the contract signing with some love for Texas, noting it's the home state of both of his parents and one of his Royal Rumble wins. He also clarified his recent "don't flinch" post from this very app! pic.twitter.com/SFUiceoewJ

“The Final Boss” references The Rock, who nearly faced Roman Reigns at WrestleMania XL, and then wanted Cody Rhodes to turn heel at WWE Elimination Chamber.
The Rock has not been on WWE TV since Elimination Chamber when it was Cena, not Cody, who sold his soul.
