Kyle Fletcher Opens Up About WWE Offer And Why He Signed With AEW

Kyle Fletcher reflects on WWE showing interest in signing him before he decided to sign with AEW.

Kyle Fletcher is currently one of the top wrestlers in AEW. He embodies an alternative wrestling style and highlights the new opportunities provided to wrestlers by the Tony Khan-led promotion. However, before Fletcher decided to sign with All Elite Wrestling, WWE expressed interest in him. Fletcher is now reflecting on the decision he made.

During an interview with Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp, Fletcher mentioned the atmosphere of AEW as a reason for his decision. He also praised how Tony Khan treated him. He feels confident that he made the right move for his career.

“It was the fact that we [Aussie Open] had come in before signing, and we kind of understood the vibe and how Tony treated us and other people. We trusted that it would be the best place for us to grow. The way I’m standing here today, we made the right choice.”

Discussing WWE’s interest in him, Kyle Fletcher admitted that it was a surreal moment to even receive the offer from WWE. Reflecting on his childhood fandom, he would say that the offer made him feel like a “real” pro wrestler.

“Kind of mind-blowing. Coming up and being a fan of WWE, just the fact that they were like, ‘We want to talk to you and get on a Zoom call with you.’ It was weird to let that sink in. ‘Ah, okay, I guess I’m a real wrestler now.’”

Elsewhere in the interview, Kyle Fletcher reflected on his growth as a wrestler over the last twelve years. Fans can read his comments on that here.
