Chelsea Green Says Matt Cardona Was ‘Flustered’ When She Told Him That John Cena Mentioned His Name During WWE SmackDown Promo
Chelsea Green broke the news to Matt Cardona.
Cardona was wrestling while the promo was happening.
As John Cena and CM Punk are building to their Undisputed WWE Title match at the Night of Champions Premium Live Event, Cena put Punk through a table on Friday Night SmackDown and proceeded to give his rendition of the ‘pipebomb.’
Cena mentioned Claudio Castagnoli, Nic Nemeth and Matt Cardona during his promo. Cardona was informed of the news by Chelsea Green. Green shared during a Fanatics Live signing that her husband was flustered when he first learned what happened.
“He’s (Matt Cardona) chronically online. He never, ever, ever leaves his phone. He happened to be wrestling (when John Cena was delivering his version of the pipebomb) so he wasn’t online, didn’t know. I got to break the news to him. Yeah! Rare occurrence… So, I got to tell him and he was so flustered. He’s like, ‘Well, I don’t understand.’ ‘Just go watch it.’”
Cardona has since reacted to the segment several times on X. Green was in action on that episode of SmackDown, and she took on Charlotte Flair.
