On the August 10th episode of AEW Collision, Claudio Castagnoli issued a challenge to face Kazuchika Okada for the AEW Continental Championship on the August 21 episode of AEW Dynamite in Cardiff.
Claudio earned a shot at the AEW Continental Championship by winning a three-way bout on the August 5th episode of AEW Collision, defeating Lee Moriarty and Tomohiro Ishii.
